- define your favouring filters and mark the mails with one of the Labels available in Mozilla or Thunderbird (Important, Work, Personal, TODO or Later)
- create a search on your account using as a rule Label is <what_you_want>
- save the search result as directory
One of the nice features of Outlook is the Follow up directory. As I am using for a long time and I don't want to switch from Mozilla or Thunderbird, I was looking to see this feature in it.
The following trick will give you something very near the Outlook feature, but unfortunately not as nice as that one.

Thanks very much for this tip, saved me from making the fatal mistake of switching back to outlook just for this.
Here is another idea. Add the lightning plugin, then just drag the email message and drop it on the new event icon. Set the date and time for a follow-up and wholla! :)
Great idea! 10x!
The lightning idea is nice, but the problem is that now you have an event instead of the original email. Let's say the original email had an attachment, or you want to view it in relation to its original thread. It would be much nicer to be able to just tag the email for follow up as an email. ReminderFox might be the way to go instead. ( t-bird add-on )
