Gmail new features - apply filter to existing conversations

Continuing the posts about Gmail (see the previous one about tricky way to select unread emails), I must point some new features added in Gmail.
I would say that from those, I find the Also apply filter to (number) conversations below one of the most important I've been looking for since using Gmail. Good work guys! Hope similar good things will start happening to Google Desktop Search.
